Faculty Information

Faculty and staff at Illinois State University work with students as partners in their educational development inside and outside of the classroom, so that students come to appreciate learning as an active and lifelong process.  Furthermore, strong programs of instruction and scholarship recognized at national and international levels result in the acquisition, synthesis, dissemination and creation of new knowledge. The application of this knowledge invigorates both undergraduate and graduate education.

Students at Illinois State University can expect constant interaction with faculty, beginning at the freshman year and continuing after graduation.

Faculty teach approximately ninety percent of the student credit hours at Illinois State University. Ten percent are taught by professionals or graduate assistants.

In fall 2006, 82 percent of the full-time instructional faculty had the appropriate terminal degree for their discipline and held the following academic ranks.
